Royal Triumph for Belton Cheese
Shropshire based Belton Cheese celebrated a tremendous haul of 7 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals at the Royal Bath and West Show held last week.
This amazing medal tally meant that Belton Cheese was also awarded the prestigious “Cheesemakers Trophy for Excellence” sponsored by JSainsbury. With a record number of entries, this year was historic, as never before has the trophy ventured out of the South West. In addition, Belton Cheese becomes the first English territorial cheesemaker to win the trophy.
Award winning farmhouse cheeses including Red Leicester, Cheshire and Creamy Lancashire have been made at Belton Farm since the early eighteen hundreds and with a dedication to traditional methods and highly experienced cheesegraders on hand, each and every cheese is top class.
Commenting on the win, Justin Beckett, Managing Director said,” We are absolutely delighted to have won 13 medals and to top it off winning the Cheesemakers Trophy for Excellence and the Aplin & Barrett Perpetual Challenge Trophy. These awards are the culmination of the dedication and hard work of everyone at Belton Cheese. We are particularly pleased to have won gold for our new cloth bound Rinded Red Leicester.”
