Belton reigns "SUPREME" at the Royal Welsh Show

Shropshire cheesemaker, Belton Cheese has today been crowned "Supreme Champion" at this year's Royal Welsh Show. Proving to be a resounding hit with the judges, Belton's Double Gloucester beat of stiff competition from hundreds of entrants to win the coveted title.

The Marks & Spencer Perpetual Trophy was also presented to Belton for "Best Regional Cheese" who went on to win a further 5 Gold, 9 Silver and 4 Bronze medals making it one of their most successful shows to date.

At the end of June, Belton Cheese was also awarded "Supreme Champion" for their Wensleydale at the Royal Bath and West National Cheese Awards. And just last week at the Great Yorkshire Show, they won a further 18 awards including trophies for Best Cheddar, Best Territorial (Cheshire) and Best Flavoured Cheese (Red Leicester with black pepper).

The Royal Welsh Show attracts nearly 240,000 visitors a year so to be judged the best cheese at a show of this size is fantastic.
