Belton Cheese Milk Supplier wins Beautiful Farm Award

Belton Cheese is very pleased to announce that one of our excellent milk suppliers, Andrew Gresty from Overton-on-Dee, has won the Dairy Category of the New Holland Beautiful Farm Award for his care and stewardship of the countryside.

Andrew was delighted to have won the Award as he and his family take great pride in their careful management of the farm, which includes 13 ponds and the area around them. As well as many bird species and flora (the Botanical Society of the British Isles uses it as a monitor farm), the ponds have become home to some very rare species such as the Lesser Silver Water Beetle and Great Crested Newt.

As Andrew said, farmers have a close relationship with the countryside but they are also businessmen, and the awardsshow that farming can be successful and environmentally sensitive.

The Beautiful Farm Awards are organised by Farm Business Magazine and sponsored by agricultural machinery manufacturer New Holland.
