Own-label organic cheese grows year on year…

Although the branded organic cheese market has been demonstrating significant decline, the own label category has not suffered the same fate.  In fact it has grown its annual volume share when compared to branded by an impressive 12.8%. (Source: Kantar World panel, w/e June 13th, 2010)

Top own label organic cheese manufacturer Belton Cheese, is delighted with how the market has been performing.  With a dedicated pool of organic farmers located within 20 miles of their farm in Shropshire, this market growth has meant an increase in organic cheese production at the site. Belton produce a vast array of Organic cheeses including Cheddar, Cheshire, Wensleydale, Double Gloucester and Lancashire to name but a few.

To help support the British Cheese Awards, that attracts entries from over 70% of British cheesemakers, Belton Cheese is proud to announce their sponsorship of the Best Organic Cheese.  With 106 entries in the organic class the competition will be tough and the winner will be announced at the Awards dinner held in Cardiff on Friday 24th September.
