Belton flies the flag at USA's largest food show

The Winter Fancy Food Show, North America’s largest Speciality Food & Beverage event, recently took place in San Francisco and Shropshire’s very own Belton Cheese was on hand to promote their award winning range of cheeses.

Working in partnership with their US distributor, Anco Fine Cheese and fellow UK cheese producers Wensleydale Dairy Products and Quenby Hall, the show provided the perfect opportunity for Belton Cheese to present their Belton Farm branded range of English territorial cheeses to current customers and potential new customers in the US.

Attracting 2,500 exhibitors from over 80 countries across the world, more than 24,000 people attended the show over the three day period in January. The Belton Farm brand has gone from strength to strength in the US since its launch 18 months ago and the English and Shropshire provenance has played a major role in its success. UK cheese sales through Anco have increased by 8% in 2010 and Belton’s territorial cheese range has grown by an impressive 12% during the same period.

Commenting on the show, Justin Beckett, Managing Director at Belton Cheese said, “Attending the Winter Fancy Food Show has been a great experience for Belton Cheese.  Not only has it allowed us to promote our fantastic range of English territorial cheeses to current and potential new customers, it has been pivotal in maintaining a strong relationship with our exclusive US distributor Anco Fine Cheese.  It was also a pleasure to get so many positive comments about our cheeses in particular our Rinded Red Leicester, Double Gloucester and 18 month old Farmhouse Cheddar and we look forward to growing the Belton Farm brand in the US.”
